Thank you for visiting our website to see what we have planned at the farm, rescue and sanctuary. The website is under-development with more content added weekly, as we move forward. We look forward to discussing the property with anyone interested in becoming a part of its future. We are open to all discussions.
At Green Thumb Eco Farms, LLC, our mission is to create a positive environmental and social impact business through sustainable farming practices. As a registered LLC and nonprofit organization, we are dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable people and animals. Our farm, rescue, and sanctuary serve as a hub for environmental education, spiritual growth, and conservation efforts. By integrating a for-profit business model with a non-profit co-sponsorship revenue stream and work exchange rent program, we aim to support the recovery and empowerment of the unhoused and disadvantaged individuals in our community, while saving animals, wild and domestic.
At Green Thumb Eco Farms, LLC, our vision is a farm producing essential oils, in a factory distillery, that will be built here, on the property. Along with manufacturing oils and products, for wholesale and retail, that will be built here, in another building. As well as, an organic farmer's market program, in another building, for year-round farm production to the local market and beyond. The name is plural because we intend on expanding this business model to other properties in other counties throughout California to help re-house and support disadvantaged people recover their lives, generate an income and support a cause..
The vision is a clearly defined, strategic multi-stream revenue business plan for an agritourism and commercial permaculture, eco-farming, environmentally conscious agriculture program. The whole purpose of this business plan is the mission to save lives and renew people towards a future that is promising, purposeful and profitable. To give a chance at a better future, for both humans, who have fallen on hard times, and for animals, wild and domestic, who need an environment to respite, migrate and live out their lives safe, watered, fed and loved.
Contact us today to schedule a consultation to discuss how we can work together to create a win-win through partnership, sponsorship or volunteering.
We started Green Thumb Eco Farms, LLC with the goal of providing high-quality and sustainable farming services to the local community. Our team is passionate about agriculture and we believe that by working together, we can help create a better and more sustainable future.
We named our farm Green Thumb Eco Farms as a registered LLC and the 501c3 nonprofit, Stay Alive Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, both dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable people and animals.
It is our intention to create an environmental, spiritual, conservation consciousness program, through multiple projects, to show how the for-profit side of the business supports the non-profit side, using a co-sponsorship revenue model and a work exchange rent program to help the unhoused, disadvantaged persons recover their lives, with peer-to-peer support, while they provide human resources to the stewardship of the land and the projects generated here as we all heal and restore ourselves, with Mother Earth's Blessings.
We are currently looking for some wonderful humans to work on the ground and bring to life projects
that their community really needs.
We are also looking for sponsorships, partnerships, venture capitalists and investors, with philathropic intentions.
This is a wonderful soulful opportunity to contribute something greater to a cause that will enrich so many for decades to come.
Huge number of wildlife migrating and living among the trees.
We need help managing the hummingbird sugar water feeders and managing the bird feeding stations that will be throughout the property.
As well as, a need to manage the water troughs throughout the week for all the wildlife and rescued dogs, and soon to be equine and farm animals.
There is a continual scope of work to be done just cleaning everything from mold and ants, and keeping the food and water levels full.
As we grow, we will be creating new locations for more feeders throughout the property, as we build towards an agritourism business and respite place where birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts can visit.
We have 4,400+ eucalyptus trees flowering and many olive trees blooming around us.
We have swarms of bees that are in the trees. We can hear them.
I want to create a bee yard also known as an apiary with beehives among the eucalyptus and olive trees.
I believe the honey would be rich with healing nutrients. We can bottle and sell to support the farm, rescue and sanctuary.
I am looking for someone to come stay on the property to build, train and support the beehives.
There is much to do beyond the bees.
This position would be multi-tasking with opportunities.
We need help desperately with the daily chores and nurturing of our wonderful, smart, rescued dogs.
Dog training experience needed or willing to learn.
Experience giving shots and first aid care a plus.
Last August 2023, a female dog now named Gracie and her two companions, now named Oscar and Felix, were dumped at the back of our 80-acre farm.
All 3 dogs were so emaciated their hip bones were showing. The female dog was clearly pregnant. Even through her hip bones and starvation, it was obvious. She came to me begging asking for help at my door.
She walked into my house and started giving birth within a day and started a labor that lasted over 24-hours for all puppies to be delivered.
I never knew this dog before this moment. By the time it was over, I am giving her Lamaze and saving her life.
It was a brutal delivery for her. There is no way she would have lived with all the blood and intense labor she went through, out in the wild.
The first two puppies delivered were stillborn, then the third lived. Thank God he lived. She was depressed with none living so far. I named him Leo. Then, it was 15-hours between Leo and the fourth and fifth puppy, both came out stillborn. Then, the sixth one I named Bear. His head is huge, like a bear. Another sadly died, then a female now named Hope survived. The last survivor was Faith, our sweet little runt. She needed CPR to start her life journey and, sadly, the last one did not make it.
Gracie gave birth to 4 live puppies and 5 stillborns. Her companions would have had to fight off wild animals. Nothing about it would have fared well for any of them. I absolutely know 100% I saved those dogs and her puppies lives.
As for the 2 males, they walked into a cottage on the property where they have been since then. Now, I have 7 dogs rescued. No rescue, nor SPCA, nor the Humane Society have helped me. I have been taking care of these animals alongside my 80-year old mother, for 11-months, keeping them alive, fed and safe with my personal money. No grants or sponsorships yet.
Since the beginning, my mother and I have been asking, "What happened here?" "Where did these dogs come from?" Well, I did Wisdom Panel DNA testing to learn the tragic truth about the lack of spay and neuter programs, in California and throughout the United States.
The father of Gracie and Felix is Oscar, and he mated with his daughter Gracie to create these 4 puppies, all of which have congenital birth defects that the nonprofit will need to raise funds for to medically correct their individual issues, and everyone of them has at least one medical condition needing a veterinary to help us resolve.
We cannot do this alone anymore. We must find passionate animal lovers, who will help us give these dogs a chance.
We need someone to start our earthworm casting vermicompost program to use for all our farming production needs.
The soil is so important for what we want to accomplish.
That is why I added "Eco Farm" in the business name.
My great-grandfather lost his 6,000-acres in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, during the Great Dust Bowl era of the 1930's.
That tragedy happened due to over-grazing and over-plowing of the land. There was more to it, but it ended our family's inter-generational farming business and brought us to California.
The soil is organic. It has not been sprayed with pesticides.
Vermicomposting will be perfect for the regeneration of the soil to create a permiculture farming program and bring farming back to my family.
This is 80-acres surrounded by 4,400+ eucalyptus trees, dozens of olive trees and harvest oak trees along with so many varieties of bushes and dried grass throughout the property.
I need multiple workers to help with the scope of work that is daily, weekly and monthly.
I need someone with gardening and landscaping management experience to plant a garden, as well as manage a schedule of weed eating, lawn mower tractor and chainsaw projects.
Anyone who wants to come to stay and enjoy the property and help with gardening and landscaping, please inquire.
The need is ongoing and immediate.
This property is in need of many repairs, as well as a need to build tent platforms for our agritourism and events.
As the project needs develop to generate revenue, we need carpenters to build.
There are decks that need to be built.
Cabinets and pantries need to be built indoors and in barns to control dirt buildup on everything exposed to the elements.
Cement to be formed and poured around buildings and work space areas.
I am looking for one or more persons, who are do'ers.
They love to work with their hands and tools.
They love staying busy.
This person(s) is/are action and task-oriented, organized.
They can be given a project and see it through with craftsmanship and experience to show for their effort.
They will be helping to build this agritourism and farm for others to enjoy their workmanship for decades.
Many pipes need to be fixed and trenched for landscaping, gardening, and outside faucet locations.
Indoor/outdoor plumbing fixes needed.
Water pump needs to be redone.
The water tank deck needs to be rebuilt.
Water tank needs to be replaced.
Currently, the tank is a metal agriculture holding tank. It is full of soot that needs to be drained and vacuumed out.
I have a water filtration system that needs to be added at the water pump.
Electrical Panel boxes at every building need to be improved and fixed.
All sockets and switches need to be replaced in every building and upgraded to current fire safety guidelines.
All the lights need to be fixed inside buildings and outside lighting needs to be added throughout the property.
There have been no electrical improvements in decades.
This is a big need. I am looking for someone who wants respite and a work environment that you get to enjoy throughout your day and you do not have to leave.
None of the fence standing has been repaired in decades. It need to be tightened, new wire ran and some fencing moved.
At some point, I need to hire a surveyor to define the property lines and secure the perimeter for rescued animals to graze.
I am looking for one or more persons, who wants to work outdoors, enjoying the environment and contribute to securing the safety of the animals we will be rescuing.
Right now, the reason we are not taking in rescued farm and horses is the fencing issues.
When the fencing is solved, we will be able to start taking them into our sanctuary.
I have known many over the years who love to clean.
There is so much dirt everywhere settling on everything and then there are the dogs who live among us and they are shedding and dirtying up everything.
Lots of dusting, vacuuming, laundry, carpet cleaning, wiping walls down, cleaning floors, et cetera.
As we develop our agritourism, there will be a need to cleanup the tents.
This is an ongoing daily, weekly and monthly scope of work that really needs to be filled, as soon as possible.
Wanted: Cooks
Those who love to cook and want a place to prepare meals come on over.
We have a large kitchen with all the goodies you need to prepare any meal you desire.
I need help in the kitchen.
I am vegetarian, but okay with others eating meats.
I need to be on my computer and on the phones, generating this business plan.
I find I am not eating throughout the day.
Someone who can come live there and prepare meals for me and others living here as needed would be a blessing.
I am looking for someone who has successfully written grants or is willing to crash course learn to help generate grants to support the dogs medical bills, the rescue spay and neuter needs, all the dog food and supplies, as well as grants to hire trainers, build kennels, et cetera.
I am also looking into funding for our work rent program to build tiny houses for the unhoused who locally are without opportunities. They can come here, live in one of our ADUs, work in exchange for rent and peer-to-peer support as they recover their lives.
I need someone who is passionate about what we want to do here and who will find us those grants to support us.
We are in the process of creating an essential oil business, starting with the 4400+ eucalyptus trees surrounding the perimeter of the property.
Then, there are the many olive trees throughout the property that would make organic oil products.
The goal is to add either lavender, garlic, or multiple other possibilities for essential oil farming.
To start, I am looking for a Tree Management expert with master chainsaw skills, who would be able to manage the falling of the trees, removal of the leaves and branches and distillation experience a serious plus.
This is a huge opportunity to be at the launch of the farm to bottle business production.
There is much cleanup to be done first among the trees and grounds.
None of these trees have ever been pruned.
Many branches need to be gathered and chipped.
Among all the eucalyptus trees, there are decades of fallen leaves that need to be cleared and composted properly for use in the garden, et cetera
